SuperStar Virgo Cruise

This cruise (2D/1N) was actually planned by my SIL (Pappy's youngest sister) and BIL (Pappy's brother) about a few months back. Hahaha, what a day to embark the ship which coincided with MY birthday (7th December)! So, Pappy treated it as a birthday present for me (no sharksfin's soup *sob, sob, sob*).

My SIL chartered a coach to transport us to the West Port, Port Klang. There were 12 adults and 8 kids! (MIL, Pappy, myself, Des; BIL, wifey, Cassandra and Mylene (maid); SIL, hubby, Jocelyn, Lum Lum, Khai Quan and Maria (maid); BIL's wifey's brother, wifey and wifey's MIL and 3 kids). Hahaha, dat was a big lot, rite?

Front: Pappy (half) and my MIL; 2nd row: my BIL's wifey (in blue) and her brother; 3rd row: my youngest SIL (right) and her hubby (left); standing: my BIL (Pappy's brother) and the kids are at the back seats.

After checking in at the immigration counter, we were on our way. We had to walk our way to the ship and could see it on our way from the platform. It was indeed a 'biiiiiiggggg' ship! The decks were from the 4th - 13th floor! (pardon me for being so 'sam pa lau', 'suaku', it was an eye opener for me).

We had to surrender our passports at the entrance of the ship and a card was issued upon entering the ship. U cannot enter your cabin without this: (the Blue access cards which are for World Cruiser guests; the Red access cards are for Balcony Class guests).

After we received our cards, we made our way to our cabins on Deck 6. We had to, either, take the stairs or lifts. We opted for the lifts as we had to tag our luggages along.

Destinee was so excited when I handed the card with her printed name and she exclaimed "Mommy, this is my card, my name is on it!". We reached our cabin and I asked Des to open the door with her card. It was like any other hotel whereby u slot the card into the door ... and tra ... da ... our room ......

and (heehee) the teeny weeny toilet

While I was unpacking, there was a knock on the door. Upon opening the door, my SIL told me there was a surprise for me and there stood a steward with a tray. He wished me Happy Birthday and handed me a cake! Though it was not a big one, it was the thought dat counted. Heeheehee, I really didn't expect dat and indeed was a wonderful surprise for me.

My Birthday Cake from Star Cruise!

We left our cabin and did some exploring on each deck. We found a restaurant 'Blue Lagoon' and had some snacks. Access cards were swiped for all charges and need only to pay when we check out.

Actually there were 2 dining rooms (Bella Vista Restaurant – Western food and Pavilion Restaurant – Chinese food, both which served breakfast and dinner only) on Deck 6, and a buffet-styled restaurant (Mediterranean Buffet & Terrace) on Deck 12. The meals – breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner and supper, were served free. There was a Kids' Area where they served kids' food (cereals, chocs, fruits, etc.). Children under the age of 10 are not permitted to dine in the Bella Vista (wondering how Michelle's Tim and Emily got in?). Too bad we didn't have enough time to try the meals at Bella Vista and Pavilion Restaurants.

There were a few A La Carte restaurants besides Blue Lagoon (Asian Bistro), Palazzo (Italian), Noble House (Chinese), Samurai (Japanese), The Taj (Indian Cuisine), The Taverna (International Snacks and BBQ Steamboat) and Cafes, Ice Cream counters were oso available.

Care for a game of mahjong or need to do some reading or 'internetting'?

A few Duty free shops were on Deck 7 – Star Boutique, New Arrival, Ports' O Call.

For entertainment, the Galaxy of Stars on Deck 12, a place where u might enjoy a drink or 2 while listening to musicians play their music and singers rendering their songs. The Celebrity Disco was where u could dance ur hearts out and the Taverna Bar where u could drink till u drop.

We enjoyed the Free showtime (Kingdom of Kung Fu) at The Lido situated on Deck 7 where a 60 minute show extravaganza featuring the winning cast of acrobats, gymnasts and dancers from Europe, South America and Asia. The showtimes were at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Another showtime was at 12 midnite where only ADULTS (18 years and above) were allowed admittance. Get what I mean? Hahaha ...... dat's rite ...... The Las Vegas Styled TOPLESS Show! The tickets were sold at S$20 before 11 p.m. and at S$25 after 11 p.m. We had to 'sneak' (not for free) but when the kids were tucked in (of course under the care of the maids). The exotic dancers from Europe & South America were great! (I don't mean the gals' boobs, okay?). The dances were 'hygienic' dances like any other ordinary 'gig' dances, only dat the gals were topless. After the show, we had supper in the Mediterranean Buffet and I decided to call it a day whereas Pappy and the rest went to try their luck in The Oasis Club.

We have Captain Tim and Captain Emily in Michelle's blog, here we have CAPTAIN DESTINEE! Des was fascinated with the snowman on display and had wanted to 'carry' it back and even suggested me to buy it for her *slap head*

The Parthethon Pool was in the middle of the ship on Deck 12. Children below 12 years of age were not permitted to use the pool and the jacuzzi unless accompanied by an adult.

The pool (Neptune's Wet and Wild) for kids on Deck 10 was at the end of the ship.

Some of the activities and games on the ship were draughts, table tennis bingo. Others were Aerobics, Spa, Gym, Carpet Bowl, Golf, Basketball, etc. There was a Hair & Beauty salon, Video Arcade, Picture House and of course THE OASIS CLUB (where u can try ur luck on the tables, in other words, dat's the casino). I love to watch players trying their hands at the Bingo game. There were these hilarious transvestites entertaining the people and we had a good laugh when they made fun of the winners (kissing them on the cheek and dancing sexily in front of them).

After our lunch at the Mediterranean restaurant, finally came the end of our cruise. We checked out and collected our passports. On the way out, we were bidded farewell by a group of entertainers with their tune to Jingle Bells.

We disembarked the ship and had our passports stamped at the Singapore's Immigration counter. The Immigration is in a shopping centre, the Vivo City and we could see the Sentosa Island right across from the shopping centre.

Singapore, here we come again!

I really wish I can go on board the Super Star Virgo again. *hint hint Pappy*

No need to envy lar. U can go with ur family too. There are 4 beds but one is actually a seat and underneath it is a tilam – the room can accommodate 4 adults.

Hahaha, no photos wor. We were not allowed to bring in our cameras or handphones. They checked our bags before allowing us to go in.

How come don't see u go online these days?

I enjoyed myself on the ship very much. We went for the 2D/1N trip and cost us about RM400 + per adult. We paid less for Des cos children under 12 is cheaper.

Wah got topless show some more ah, but of course lah, when u are in international waters. there are no laws hehehhee.

Actually its one of my dream to bring my wife for this cruise. One day, one day we shall go. A 2 days 1 night trip would be sufficient i guess. Some ppl think its boring to go on a cruise.

I didn't know they have a 2N/1D trip on the Virgo. Glad you enjoy it.

For Bella Vista, superVIP children can go in...hehehe. J/K. After 8pm, they do not allowed children in. Before 8pm, it is ok. We had the Gala Dinner there.

Go, go, go. Go and enjoy urself with wifey and bb. I don't know why some frens told me they were bored but I really enjoyed myself esp with the free food every now and then, kakakakaka.

But make sure u go on the larger ships and not those with one or two decks whereby I'm sure will not be as enjoyable.

Michelle
Heehee, I'm an easily contented person. I'll try to enjoy myself wherever I go.

Wah, only superVIP children can go in Bella Vista? No wonder lor.

Annie Q
Haha, I don't know whether u'll enjoy or not but I did enjoy myself even with my girl tagging along and without maid (heehee got Pappy to look after her mar). But like I mentioned in Julian's comment, go for those larger ships where there are decks after decks for u to explore.

Jessie
More thrilling mar. Go by ship and come back by coach. Hahaha.

Aiyo, u can afford one lar. It's not very expensive cos we 'tik tik tak tak on the calculator' beforehand and went for the cheapest. ngek ngek ngek.
