Luncheon Meat & Potatoes wrapped in Popiah Skin

One of my frens taught me by using yam, 'nin kou' (glutinous rice cake) and sweet potato but I susbtituted them with luncheon meat and potatoes.

Ingredients:
Popiah skin (5" x 5")
Potatoes (skinned and sliced thinly)
Luncheon Meat (sliced and preferable fried and absorb the excess oil)
Tapioca flour mixed with water (for sticking the popiah skin)

Method:
1. Lay a piece of popiah skin on a board, place a piece of potato, on top of the potato, put a piece of luncheon meat and lastly put another piece of potato on top of the luncheon meat.
2. Wrap the whole thing into a square and brush the the tip of the popiah skin before the final wrapping up.

3. The wrapped lunchoen meat & potatoes. 4. After wrapping, deep fry them in medium hot oil until golden brown.
Happy trying out this simple snack!

Zara's mama:
Ya, ya, u can put the yam on the bottom, nin gou, then sweet potato. But I prefer to have salty snacks so I change the nin gou to luncheon meat cos nin gou is sweet and yam is very expensive wor.

Agnes, what's 'zhong tim'?

Dinah:
Oh yes, very yummy yummy.

Vien:
Ya, ya, very easy, go go go try it out.

Jess:
Aiyo, unhealthy meh? I just love luncheon meat.

Blogie-talkie:
Very delicious. My maid sapu 10 at one shot!

Errr ... Blogie-talkie, I think u've mistaken. This popiah skin is different and suitable for making spring rolls, prawn rolls, chicken floss rolls. It needs to be fried and cannot be eaten raw.

The raw fresh ones (usually round in shape) where u can get from the wet market (I dunno whether u can get in ur place or not) are for making popiah where u put fried shredded sengkuang, carrots, eggs, french or long beans, chopped groundnuts and then wrap like a roll.

Hope u understand what I've mentioned.

Ya, it's very easy, go go go try it out and I'm sure u'll love the crunchy popiah skin.

Oh, I sliced the potatoes with a knife cos I don't often use the grater (I'm hopeless at using it *blush blush*).

Tip: It's better to fry the luncheon meat first cos I tried without frying and the luncheon meat inside the popiah skin was very oily and not so tasty.

Blurblur:
Hahaha, not only u, I always drool over food too. How to go on diet leh? *sob sob sob*

Magictree:
Oh, I'm not good at cooking and baking but love to cook and bake. Always like to try something new and different.

I prefer baked cheese cos I don't really like the cheesy smell, as in pizzas. I use my own method in making pizzas.

Spagetti Bolognaise? My OWN method wor? U need me to blog about this?

Yes please. I cooked horrible spagetti (ready made sauce) and No1 still likes it, sometimes I just buy for him ! Maybe if it is good, then the whole family can enjoy, not only No1!!!!

Yuks! I don't like ready-made sauce.

No problem, I'll blog about it soon. I won't guarantee u'll like my method but no harm in trying.
