Magic Painting
Notice the difference between the 2 pictures? The one on the left was oso painted with water colour paints and the one on the right with just plain water.
Elyss: "Mi, why did Yau Yau paint the pictures with water colour paints?"
Me: "Huh? No need water colour paints?"
Elyss: "Aiya, u din read the instructions meh?" *looking at the book cover*
Me: *blur blur* "What instructions? How can u paint without paint?" *trying to be smart*
Elyss: *pointing the instructions on the front cover* "Look at what it says here." *reading* "Brush with water to make the colour magically appear!"
Me: "Huh?" *mouth opened*
Elyss: "Aiyo, Mi, please lar, read the instructions first lar".
Me: *speechless* *rolled eyes*
a
Tsk, tsk, tsk, how silly of me (heehee).
The colours seem to appear by themselves after painting on them! No wonder they call it Magic Painting. (me and my Smart Alec instincts, kekeke)Ta da ......
The brush must be clean when u start with a new part, else the colour will be multi-coloured e.g. the picture on the left. The land should be green in colour but after painting the trunk (yellow) of the coconut tree, Des straight away wet her brush and started painting the land – therefore the mixed colour.
At least no messing up with water colour painting. The edges of the drawings are thick and so the colour will not mix with the neighbouring parts. Make sure the brush is not too wet and try not to paint too many strokes on a part, else u'll get an extra patch of a hole on the picture or some 'lou lai' (Cantonese) – bits of 'residues' from the paper coming out of the page.
Yippee! A new found hobby for Destinee – Painting without paints! Kekekekeke.

Wow...looks fun leh, at least you don't have to worry about cleaning up the mess hor! :)
Haha..if i were you, i think i would have missed the instruction also, remember - i'm blurblur mah..;p
Wow, this book so magic le..where you bought it??
Hahaha, DD more alert that mommy!
Blurblur:
Really, it was fun watching Des paint and without getting messy.
*Hi Five* We're both blurblurs. Hahahahaha.
Rachel:
Actually the mess is on her hands only. She always forget the paint is still wet and will touch the paint while painting another part.
Yup, she painted the 1st picture by herself. Mommy only helped her to get the paint onto the pallet and washed the brushes thoroughly when they were dirty. Actually, the pic I took was quite blur to hide the untidiness. When u look at the actual pic, I think u'll have a 2nd opinion. Kekekekeke.
She was taught to be careful and tidy by u know who lor (hahahahaha).
Hui Sia:
Oh, I bought dat at MPH, The Curve. There are 4 different books and I bought 2 at RM5.90 each. I couldn't find it at any other MPH outlets.
kekeke...when u mentioned magic paintbook, i thought u put the water then it will change colour from one to another :p
very cool yah..and oso less messy :)
wah! now only did I realise got such a thing... I was wondering how did Des coloured so beautifully!! I can't even do that!! LOL!
Mummy super duper 'jingling'.. *slap head*.
so unique color book hor! must grab one or two for wien la!
LOL mummy kena tease by daughter!
That will be good for my boys too. I used to 'grumble' whenever I do painting with them, cos they will just dip their brush from 1 colour to another!
Jazz:
Wah, so high tech meh?
Ya, very cool and I don't have to clean until geram. Ooops, I don't have to do the cleaning up, my maid will do it. Heehee.
Egghead:
Should update urself lor. LOL.
So, now u know how she coloured so beautifully lor hor?
Zara's mama:
*blush blush* Kekekekeke.
Jess:
Ya ya, go grab one and let Wien colour. I'm sure she'll love it.
I tried one of these before but my girl put so much water, no colours came out, only bits of paper koyak koyak and she finished "painting" the book in one session.
Magictree:
Oh yes, it's good for the kids to practise painting on this before going on to the water colour painting.
Mumsgather:
Hahaha, dat's why I advised not to wet the brush with too much water and try not to colour the part too many times.
Wuah lau eh! Ur girl girl finished painting the book in one session? 'Geng' leh. I'll allow mine to finish 2 pics at one time and bluff her dat the pics need to be dried before going to the next page, so wait wait wait and I quickly hide it, then she'll forget about it (heehee). But sometimes she gets bored after painting 2 pics.
looks fun and interesting. another new thing that I learn today, painting without paint!
Do you know that there is color pencil when you put water it becomes paint. Another way to paint. Hey I have the same palette for my kids.
i didnt know such thing existed! :)
Wow! So cheap leh! I have to stock up when I'm back in KL.
Hehe..sometimes when we get too excited to give our kids new stuffs to play, when tend to forget to read the instruction.hehe
Sharon:
Oh, sure, it's fun and interesting and no messing up too.
Michelle:
Color pencil when you put water it becomes paint? Oops, must go and search for dat, I'm really outdated. Des chose the pallette herself. Actually, intended to get her those simple white-coloured ones but she insisted to have the butterfly-shaped ... haiya ... kids ...
Dinah:
No worries, no worries, u'll get to know lots of things as Lil Missy gets 'older'.
Vien:
Aiya, when are u coming back leh? Maybe by the time u come back, they don't have stocks oredi (heehee).
Sabrina:
Yalor, sometimes I'm very de "Big Head Prawn" too, heehee.
That sounds fun, must go find at MPH in Ipoh or Penang. Hopefully I can get some.
It's so much FUN! just wonder is it costly har? where can I get this Magic Book?
