Year-End Exam / Trip / Graduation

Back dated posts:

YEAR-END EXAM
(1/11, 2/11, 5/11 and 6/11)

Finally, Destinee's year end exam was over and time of the year to have the parents/teachers meeting again on the 10th November, 2007. Below are the results from her exam papers:

Eventhough her year-end exam's results were not as good as compared to her mid-term's exam, I was satisfied with what she had done. I've pointed out her mistakes to her and helped her correct them as some were carelessly done. As what Michelle posted in her blog, I don't think I would want to pressure my girl too much but on the other hand, sometimes my girl needs to be pressured a little or else she won't get her work done properly. Well, come to think of it, she's only 5 years old and still needs to have her 'tung nin' (childhood) days and to play with her 'masak-masak' and dolls. But it's true dat she learnt a lot of things from her school.

Destinee's books throughout the year

*psst, psst Msau, if u are reading this, u feel like fainting or backing out from enrolling SQ into this pre-school?* Hahaha!

TRIP
(15/11/2007)

After her final exam, her school organised a trip to High5 Bread company. After she came back from the trip, she brought a bag of goodies back and told me she enjoyed herself.

The Goody Bag

The goodies in the Goody Bag –
a loaf of High 5 Bread, Chocolate cake,
2 little muffins, 1 little swiss roll and
1 cream roll

GRADUATION
(16/11/2007)

After her school's concert and watched her seniors (6-year old students) received their graduation folders, Destinee couldn't wait for next year and made me make the graduation hat and present the graduation folder to her *roll eyes*.

The Graduate
See the mocked graduation hat? (hahaha)

Her Graduation Folder (inside the folder are photos taken in school and her Pre School 2 Graduation Certificate)

Destinee looks quite tall from the photos. Is she taller than the average kids her age? Anyway, well done to your girl. It's true she is still too young to put pressure on. Let her enjoy her childhood ;)

bits of life
Nice of u to pop by. Sent an email to u.

Michelle
Oh yes, I am proud of her but all her classmates are very smart too.

Jefferene
Wei, wei, what happened to u? Long time din hear from u. Sooo busy?

I was quite disappointed when I saw her results but when the teacher told me she's considered very good as the papers are quite tough this time only then I felt relieved.

2 littlefellas mama
Wah, no books from ur boy's school? No homework too?

My girl - a scholar? Hahaha. How I wish.

Jazzmint
Ya lor, so many books hor?

I find dat not only Des, I too learnt a lot after she entered this kindy cos before dat I don't really know what to teach and how to go about guiding her. The words in her reading books and work are always repeated and in a way she can remember. The method the teachers teaches is fast and we as parents need to guide the kids at home so dat they can cope. I can say dat I like the system and I'm glad Des is able to cope.

Not all centres are the same and depends on the teachers too. The one near my SIL's place is operated by a Malay and the teachers are mostly in tudung and baju kurung, so she refused to send her kids there.

Msau
Send SQ over for tuition? No problem. But bare in mind dat this tutor will always carry a cane hor? Hahaha.

U can't just depend on the teachers, u need to guide/teach SQ at home too.

No worries sending SQ for the trip or to the kindy lar. The kids will be in very safe hands. The teachers are all very responsible. The principal herself sent Des back to me when I told her I've no transport. And every morning they'll be teachers leading the kids into the school.

Jaclyn
Frankly speaking I WAS quite disappointed when I saw her results cos the teachers and I've revised with her for so many times and she still got the answers incorrect ... sigh ... But what to do, she has done her best and she's still a small kid.

Oops, the hat is called a mortar board hat? I haven't worn one so I din know. Hahaha. Ya lor, I made dat, cute hor?

Imm
FYI, she's the second shortest and smallest sized in class other than a pair of twins *blek*. Her classmates are all very tall and big size (u can see her in my post about her concert).

Ya ya, I do let her enjoy what she's supposed to be enjoying as a young kid.

Chinnee
Oh? Really? But one thing good is dat this kindy really get the kids prepared and they won't feel the pressure when they enter Pri. 1 as what some of my frens' kids are facing.
