Happy Birthday Pappy!
Yup, today's Pappy's birthday but we celebrated yesterday. Jason said he could deliver the cake to my house yesterday (23rd May), so might as well celebrate a day earlier as did not want to have overnite cake for Pappy. It was meant to be a surprise for him.

I told Jason I would be preparing some snacks for him but he passed the cake to Msau instead. So, Michelle, u got 'hau fook' (lucky mouth?) and I invited another close friend and her family (sorry we didn't invite u and u and u cos the next day u all got to 'kerja' [work]). Pappy was too shy and did not like the idea of putting and blowing of the candles, so just left Mille Crepe (I blogged about this special cake previously here) as it was. Jason, if u are reading this, see what u've missed! Hahahahaha! (but u had a better meal elsewhere *duh*)

Spring rolls, tuna sandwiches, fried chicken drummets,
sotong and prawns sambal, red beans 'tong shui',
agar-agar, fried meehoon and
oops forgot about the fruit salad (still freezing in the fridge at the time of 'snapping')

And the cake (actually it was the Mille Crepe ordered from Jason all the way from Malacca. Pappy likes it very much. This time I ordered a mix and match instead – 5 pieces of original and 5 pieces of berry berry. Ooooeeeeee ......... darn rite delicious!

Thanks for the invitation but I had to make my move cause I have lots of cakes to deliver and I don't want them to melt at all. Sighs. Those food can be anytime yummier than those outside food. :(

It seems dat the cake can only be found in Melaka wor so got to order from Jason who was making the orders then. We're not Melakans mar so we don't know such shop existed until Jason recommended.

Heehee, I think he should put more fresh berries. The topping looks more like berry jam and for a while I thought he just 'sapu' some ordinary berry jam on top of the cake. So, for the strawberry, I do expect to see slices of strawberry instead of strawberry jam wor.

The jam is they prepare themselves, not bought from supermarket, I think. They bought fresh berries and squashed them into jam. As for strawberry, yes, they are huge slices of strawberry on top of the cake. You can have a look of the strawberry cake here.
